共同前进：我对莱克星顿的承诺

Forward together: My Commitment to Lexington

I am running for Select Board because I care deeply about our town and its legacy. 

My vision for Lexington is a forward-thinking community that fosters innovation, while also honoring and preserving its rich history. I see a place where residents of all ages and abilities thrive and enjoy a deep sense of connection. By further embracing smart growth, fiscal prudence, educational excellence, and environmental stewardship, we will remain a dynamic town where history and progress come together to create a welcoming and sustainable future for all. 

If elected, I will immediately work to advance the new high school, examine the impacts of the new MBTA zoning, and figure out ways to mitigate our tax rate.
•	A new High School NOW– Leadership in education is a defining characteristic of our town. It is a valuable investment that provides a great education for our children while also protecting our investment in our homes. Our high school building’s inadequacies must be urgently addressed. My goal is to work toward broad consensus on SBC’s (School Building Committee) building plan for a new building that meets our requirements and move forward decisively to get the job done with the least possible disruption and taxpayer impact.
•	Further study of MBTA zoning impacts- Creating diverse and affordable housing is vital towards achieving the vision we laid out in our Comprehensive Plan. However, Town Meeting’s adoption of the MBTA zoning article has resulted in an unexpected pace of project requests, raising concerns about financial impact and our ability to adequately serve the anticipated growth. It necessitates taking a measured pause to study the potential implications of this new development trend, and then proceeding better informed and prepared.
•	Address tax concerns of our residents and businesses- Our tax base continues to be residential-heavy. Our commercial tax rate is also on the high side, making it difficult for small businesses to thrive. We need to broaden our commercial tax base to ease this burden. I will help re-evaluate our commercial revenue generation strategy, refocusing efforts on commercial development and making Lexington a destination for businesses, small and large. 

Guiding organizations through transformational change is nothing new to me. I have worked as a management consultant to large multinational corporations throughout my career. I have the analytical and personal skills to bring diverse groups with competing interests together to find innovative and productive solutions. 

As a growing multicultural town undergoing large transformative initiatives, Lexington is at an inflection point. My new voice and extensive professional skills will complement the skills and talents of our Select Board, Town staff and committee members to keep us moving forward constructively.

There is no better time than now to get involved and I invite fellow Lexingtonians to join me in this endeavor.
